Position Overview

Day Pitney’s Private Equity & Finance group is seeking an associate with 4-6 years of demonstrated experience in private equity and venture capital finance transactions to join our growing team in our Boston, MA office.

Ideal candidates will have strong transactional experience in the areas of private equity, venture capital financing, strategic joint ventures, mergers and acquisition, capital markets, corporate governance and general corporate matters. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to do sophisticated work and build their practice, and work in close team collaboration with industry experts.

Day Pitney's private equity group has significant experience representing private equity and venture capital funds in several capacities, including forming venture capital funds, leveraged buyout funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, and strategic investment transactions. The team has experience establishing U.S. business operations and business partnerships as well as company asset sales, acquisitions, and financings, including debt and equity investments in portfolio companies and counseling in connection with portfolio company initial public offerings and related stock sales.

Day Pitney’s corporate group advise clients on a broad range of matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, securities law, state corporate law, and tax and benefits issues, and the firm offers a strong transactional practice in the areas of private equity, capital markets, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. The team serves a wide range of clients including NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX listed companies across a wide range of industries including, energy banking, real estate, healthcare, communications, manufacturing, and technology. They also advise closely-held and family-owned companies and their owners throughout all stages in the life-cycle of such businesses from start-up through sale.

Job Requirements

  • 4-6 years of demonstrated private equity and venture capital finance transactional experience
  • Excellent technical, professional and client service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
  • Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration
  • Effective and efficient problem solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
  • Massachusetts bar admission in good standing
