Trademark, Copyright and Advertising Paralegal - Hartford, CT; Boston, MA

Day Pitney's growing Trademark, Copyright and Advertising group is looking for a top notch experienced Trademark Paralegal in our Hartford or Boston office. Be a part of our collegial and supportive cross office team where you will provide support to attorneys in the following areas.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with the management of routine and complex trademark issues from clearance to registration and renewal for client trademark portfolios.
  • Prepare and electronically file documents with the USPTO, including Trademark applications, Statements of Use, Extensions of Time to File Statement of Use, Section 8 & 15 Affidavits, Renewal applications and Assignment recordations
  • Coordinate and maintain foreign trademark filing programs, i.e. instruct local agents, follow-up on actions due and communicate requirements and status updates to clients
  • Correspond with foreign associates regarding existing foreign filings concerning requirements, prosecution and maintenance of trademarks worldwide
  • Draft responses to office actions
  • Monitor docket for assigned clients and follow through on actions and deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Experience with global clearance and filing programs helpful

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess

  • 5+ years' well-rounded trademark prosecution experience, including domestic and foreign filings
  • BA/BS degree, a paralegal certificate or relevant experience
  • Very organized and detail oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly energetic with a "can-do" positive attitude
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
