Thomson Reuters Webinar
Jed Davis will be a featured panelist in a webinar, "New DFS Cybersecurity Regulation: What you Need to Know," for Thomson Reuters at 11 a.m. on April 25. Davis and other panelists will discuss the legal and technological challenges that new cybersecurity regulations issued by the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) pose for the financial and insurance sectors as well as for service providers supporting those sectors. The new provisions mandate stringent assessment techniques, policies and certifications, to be phased in over the next two years, with the hardest work to be completed by September 1, 2017, a scant 6 months after the regulations went into effect. Boards, senior management and counsel may wish to take notice. The panel will discuss the details of the regulations, how it requires changes in management process as well as to technology, and, most importantly, what efforts are critical to achieve compliance.
