Day Pitney Author(s) Steven A. Cash

Steven Cash authored an article, "Why Immediate Public Release of Mueller Report Would Be Bad for National Security, Politics," published by The Hill. In his article, Cash discusses how the public release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report on his investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election would impede on protecting national security. Cash, former Chief Counsel to Senator Dianne Feinstein and a former Intelligence Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, writes "[t]hese [House and Senate Intelligence] committees handle responsibly the most sensitive classified information every day and use that information—as Article I of the Constitution anticipated—for oversight, to inform legislative priorities and to allocate resources. These functions could not be more vital now, as our government seeks to prevent Russian intervention in the 2020 elections."
