Bill Goddard and Eric Fader wrote an article, "Uncertain Prognosis for Health-Insurance Co-Ops Requires Provider Preparation," for Bloomberg BNA's Health Law Reporter. The article discusses why healthcare providers should be aware of the challenges facing Consumer Operated and Oriented Plans (co-ops), which are nonprofit health insurance companies established under the Affordable Care Act that compete with larger health insurers.  An increasing number of co-ops have now stopped writing individual health insurance and many are also navigating liquidation proceedings.
