Black Women in the Legal Profession: Where We've Been and What's Next

March 21, 2019

On March 21, Delania Barbee participated in "Black Women in the Legal Profession: Where We've Been and What's Next," a Women's History Month program hosted by the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association, the Hartford County Bar Association, and the University of Hartford and held at the Wilde Auditorium at the University of Hartford's Harry Jack Gray Center. Barbee, who currently serves as President of the Crawford Black Bar Association, moderated a discussion between Pia Flanagan (Chief of Staff for the CEO at MassMutual) and Dean Marcia Sells (Associate Dean & Dean of Students at Harvard Law School) where they spoke about the experiences of black women in the legal profession. Former Day Pitney attorney, Judge Vanessa Bryant (United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut), provided opening remarks during the program.
