Day Pitney is pleased to announce that 25-year healthcare industry veteran Eric D. Fader has joined the firm as counsel in its Corporate and Business Law Department. He will be a member of the firm's Life Sciences and Healthcare practice group and will be based in New York.

Mr. Fader has extensive experience representing healthcare providers in connection with business planning and corporate governance issues, transactional matters, and federal and state regulatory requirements. His healthcare clients have included licensed entities such as imaging centers, ambulatory surgery centers, pharmacies, home health agencies and nursing homes.

"We are glad to welcome Eric to our team," said partner R. Scott Beach, chair of Day Pitney's Corporate and Business Law department. "His knowledge of and deep connection to the healthcare industry will help Day Pitney further grow its healthcare practice."

Mr. Fader advises clients in connection with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse, federal and state self-referral issues, HIPAA and HITECH Act matters (including privacy and data breaches), Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act compliance, hospital privilege and medical staff issues, payor audits, and licensure and certificate of need applications and amendments. He also assists healthcare clients in establishing corporate compliance plans and represents insurance companies and third-party administrators, managed care provider networks, medical device suppliers, cosmetics manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, equipment vendors and lessors, and providers of electronic medical records and other online healthcare services in contractual and regulatory matters.

Mr. Fader joins Day Pitney from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, where he was a member of the healthcare practice group as well as the firm's privacy and data protection group. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. from Queens College.

Day Pitney's interdisciplinary Life Sciences and Healthcare practice offers full, integrated services to address regulatory compliance, corporate and business, transactional, litigation, labor, employment and benefits, intellectual property, financial services, environmental, real estate, and tax needs of a broad spectrum of healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, research and technology-related entities.
