Publisher: Forbes
April 5, 2016

David Newman was mentioned in an article, "Panama Papers Fallout: Iceland's PM Resigns, Ukraine's President Pressured, Billionaire Responds," in Forbes. According to the article, the family office of Russian billionaire Dmitry Ryboloblev, one of 29 billionaires in Forbes’ top 500 apparently named in the Panama Papers, put out a statement that denounced media coverage of his inclusion in articles about the use of offshore accounts to hide assets. Ryboloblev's lawyer, Tetiana Bersheda, said the accounts were set up legitimately for asset protection and estate planning and were not created to conceal assets from his ex-wife during their high profile divorce. Ryboloblev’s ex-wife’s U.S. attorney, Newman was reached by Forbes and reiterated that Rybolovlev used offshore vehicles to hide assets from her.
