Citizen's Complaint Against Christie Over Bridgegate Gets Green Light

Publisher: The New Jersey Law Journal
October 13, 2016

Dennis Kearney was quoted in an article, "Citizen's Complaint Against Christie Over Bridgegate Gets Green Light—But May Hit Potholes," in The New Jersey Law Journal. A New Jersey judge on Thursday found probable cause in a citizen's complaint charging Gov. Chris Christie with official misconduct in connection with Bridgegate. The complaint on testimony was by former Christie ally David Wildstein at the Bridgegate trial, claiming Christie was told about the scheme to cause traffic jams in Fort Lee while it was still underway. "What you really have here is a court looking at one slice of double hearsay about what was said to the governor down at Ground Zero. From a procedural perspective, the threshold is about as low as you could get," said Kearney. "Literally, the jury is still out on what happened and why. I think this thing looks more sensational than it is."
