Tax Screw-Ups and People Problems: Experts Reveal Biggest Blunders of Rich Families

Publisher: Bloomberg
February 4, 2019

Von Sanborn was featured in an article, "Tax Screw-Ups and People Problems: Experts Reveal Biggest Blunders of Rich Families," published by Bloomberg. The article surveys leading advisers in the family office space and provides their insights into common pitfalls for family offices. Sanborn told Bloomberg, "Generally, those buying art fall into one of two camps: collectors or investors. When collections become a significant portion of their net worth, collectors may be unwilling to sell because they are emotionally attached to the pieces they have purchased and lived with for years. In the same situation, investors may consider divesting at least a portion of their collection. So we see investors making more informed decisions." The article also appears in the February 2019 issue of Bloomberg's Markets Magazine.
