Mariano Beecher is an experienced tax attorney who has advised individuals, businesses, and government agencies in tax disputes, including defending clients from multimillion-dollar IRS adjustments and penalties, and litigating tax cases in federal court.
Prior to entering private practice, Mariano was a trial attorney at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where he litigated U.S. Tax Court cases involving a wide variety of federal tax issues and advised the IRS on audit, collection, and bankruptcy matters. Mariano also worked at a Big Four accounting firm, where he defended clients from IRS adjustments and assisted clients with the permissibility of domestic and international tax positions. Mariano interned with the IRS National Office of Associate Chief Counsel, where he answered a wide variety of technical tax questions from IRS attorneys and the IRS.
As a law student, Mariano gained valuable tax and litigation experience as a Rule 16 Attorney for the University of Maryland's Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and as a Rule 3:03 Prosecutor for the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
