Sophia Browning represents energy industry clients in a variety of state and federal regulatory matters. Sophia advises competitive retail suppliers on licensing and regulatory compliance and enforcement matters before state public utility commissions and monitors regulatory developments impacting competitive retail suppliers throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest. Additionally, Sophia counsels clients on matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) including electric transmission and natural gas rate cases, enforcement matters, Federal Power Act Section 203 and 205 filings, and interventions and comments on a wide variety of topics. Sophia has also assisted energy clients with litigation and transactional needs.
Prior to joining Day Pitney, Sophia worked on energy regulatory matters as a legal intern both at FERC's Office of General Counsel and at NextEra Energy's Office of Federal Regulatory Affairs.
