Gregory "Greg" Bruno handles complex commercial litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels of New York State and federal courts, and has handled matters in federal courts outside New York in the Central District of California and the District of Wyoming. In handling such matters, Greg draws upon his prior experience as a law clerk for the Honorable O. Peter Sherwood of the New York State Supreme Court, New York County Commercial Division, where he researched, issued outcome recommendations and drafted decisions in numerous commercial cases. The cases involved breaches of contract, business torts (such as fraud, misrepresentation, and breaches of fiduciary duty), UCC claims, shareholder derivative actions, commercial class actions, commercial insurance coverage claims, applications to stay/compel arbitration and to confirm/reject arbitration awards and business dissolutions. In addition, Greg provides a range of litigation support services and advice, including advice concerning subpoena compliance, New York local counsel representations, and the development of litigation avoidance strategies, policies and procedures.
Greg also handles an array of trust and estate litigation matters in New York State Surrogate’s Court, including will contests, contested accounting proceedings, discovery proceedings, and proceedings to determine the enforceability of creditor claims.
Greg also has substantial bankruptcy and restructuring experience, having previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cecelia G. Morris, the Honorable Robert E. Grossman, and the Honorable Burton R. Lifland of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York, where he researched and advised on numerous complex and high profile bankruptcy and insolvency matters, including the SIPA liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, LLC.
