Stephen Catanzaro advises and represents clients in commercial disputes. He works with clients in matters involving contracts and insurance, as well as allegations of negligence, fraud and violations of state and federal law. Stephen handles cases in both state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York. He has extensive trial, mediation and arbitration experience.
In addition, Stephen represents private employers in employment matters, including restrictive covenant and wrongful termination cases. He also represents consumer lending institutions in connection with the defense of claims by borrowers, individuals in all aspects of marriage dissolution, and private lenders against defaulting borrowers, including in breach of contract and landlord/tenant disputes.
Stephen is actively involved in pro bono matters. He volunteers for the Morris County Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project, and acts as a court-appointed representative of allegedly incapacitated persons in guardianship proceedings in New Jersey. Stephen is also co-chair of the firm's New Jersey office Social Committee.
Stephen speaks at continuing legal education events. Most recently, he helped lead a panel discussion about procedures companies should consider adopting in order to avoid liability under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Before entering private practice, Stephen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carolyn E. Wright, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage.
