James Leva represents management in traditional labor law matters, employment litigation and routinely counsels employers on compliance with the spectrum of laws governing the employer-employee relationship, including compliance with wage and hour laws.
In his traditional labor law practice, James represents management during collective bargaining negotiations, arbitrations and disputes before the National Labor Relations Board. He also counsels management during strike preparations and strike injunction proceedings.
In the area of employment litigation, James represents employers in court and before administrative agencies. In addition, he regularly counsels employers on employment issues, including wage and hour laws; employee classifications; sexual harassment; discrimination; accommodating disabled employees; family and medical leave laws; hiring, disciplining and terminating employees; and employment, non-competition and confidentiality agreements.
James served as a judicial intern in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut for the Honorable Christopher F. Droney, now of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
