Jay Mussman, a certified public accountant and attorney, assists wealthy individual clients with transactional matters in the areas of domestic and international trust and estate planning, probate, real property and taxation. He also provides litigation support in the role of either consultant or expert witness, relating to family and estate disputes and other related matters. He has over 25 years of experience working with clients in Florida.
In addition, Jay advises clients on corporate and real estate matters. Clients seek his counsel for entity formation and corporate conversions, mergers and acquisitions, sales of businesses and assets and buy-sell agreements. He also guides clients in land use, land development and construction matters. He has experience handling construction, including AIA (American Institute of Architects) contract forms, and other contracts. He handles insurance and risk management matters, as well.
Jay has both lectured and authored several publications on real estate-related matters. He drafted proposed federal tax legislation after 1992's Hurricane Andrew.
Jay is a member of the U.K.-based Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP). He has been active and has held various leadership positions with The Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. He has also been active with various charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the region.
