Matthew "Matt" Lee assists domestic and international clients achieve a broad range of estate planning objectives, from drafting basic estate plans for young families to developing and implementing sophisticated estate planning strategies for business owners, executives and other high net worth individuals to minimize estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes.
Matt also advises personal representatives and family members on all aspects of probate and estate administration, and represents fiduciaries in probate court. He counsels trustees and beneficiaries in connection with ongoing trust administration, including tax considerations and compliance with fiduciary obligations.
In addition, Matt counsels directors of private foundations with respect to operation, reporting, grant-making and tax compliance matters. He also advises individuals and families with regard to charitable giving initiatives, including charitable gifting strategies and establishment and operation of donor advised funds.
Matt is also actively involved in pro bono work. Most recently, he successfully represented a Vietnam-era veteran before the Board of Veterans Appeals to challenge the denial of medical benefits.
