John O'Reilly is a certified criminal trial attorney in New Jersey practicing in the areas of commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense. In addition to representing corporate clients in a wide range of litigation, he represents corporations and individuals who may be targets, victims or witnesses in criminal matters involving the securities, the environment, wire and mail fraud, OSHA, RICO, embezzlement, identity theft, and questioned documents in both federal and state jurisdictions.
John served as Prosecutor of Warren County from 1992-1998. Previously, he was the First Assistant Prosecutor in Morris County from 1982 to 1992 and prior to that he served as the First Assistant Deputy Public Defender in both the Morris and Essex regions.
John has lectured and participated in panel discussions sponsored by the New Jersey County Prosecutor's Association, the Warren County Bar Association, the Essex County Inns of Court, the Morris County Bar Association, and various colleges and universities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has also made numerous television appearances including: guest commentator on the program "In Context" with former Dean of Harvard Law School Arthur Miller regarding a victim's rights during criminal proceedings; guest commentator on "Court TV" with Fred Graham regarding "Michigan v. Schmidt," the Jenny Jones Show guest who alleged that the TV show was responsible for his homicidal actions; guest commentator on "Court TV" with Raymond Brown on shows dealing with the insanity defense and the death penalty; and guest commentator on "CBS News" with Lisa Daniels regarding the Michael Jackson case and a second time regarding the Martha Stewart case.
