Mark Sklarz is of counsel in the Corporate and Business Law Department and is resident in Day Pitney's New Haven office. Mark's practice concentrates on sales, mergers and acquisitions of closely-held businesses and further includes advising business entities and real estate developers on governance structure; developing efficient tax strategy for family and generational transfer of business interests, income, and succession tax planning; and negotiating and documenting acquisitive and dispositive transactions. In addition, Mark has extensive experience in negotiating complex licensing transactions with professional sports leagues and representing franchisees and development agents in sophisticated franchise, management and consultant transactions. Mark represents a broad client base through the Northeast region, including manufacturing and apparel corporations, automobile dealerships, third-party administrators, financial institutions and medical and professional groups. Mark also has extensive experience in counseling developers in multiple commercial projects, including land use, construction, financing, and regulatory aspects of office and retail complexes, university residential halls and shopping centers, and industrial parks.
