Martin Wolman is "Of Counsel" in the Individual Clients department. He advises individual clients regarding their estate planning, with particular emphasis on the options available for minimizing applicable inheritance and income taxes and the impact of estate planning devices on long-term tax planning and on relationships among family members. Martin also has extensive experience in the administration of complex estates and trusts.
Martin is a member and past chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Estate and Probate Section and a member and past chair of the Connecticut Chapter of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He was also a member of the Probate Committee of the State of Connecticut Law Revision Commission. Martin has been a lecturer in law at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he has taught the course on estate planning, and has lectured at the New England Tax Institute; Connecticut Bar Association Continuing Legal Education seminars; and numerous other programs on estate planning, taxation, and administration. Martin has served as chair of the firm's Individual Clients Department and in other firm management positions, including chair of its Executive Committee.
Martin’s charitable activities included serving as chair of the boards of Hartford Hospital, Kingswood-Oxford School and Lyme Academy College. He has also served on the boards of the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hill-Stead Museum and Russell Sage College and in other capacities with other charitable organizations. Martin and his wife Nancy Fischbach live in Deep River, Ct. He has four children and three grandchildren.
